BoroughReady ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based directory and lead-routing platform that connects property owners with verified fire risk assessors and property compliance professionals. For the purposes of UK GDPR, BoroughReady is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

• Quote request data: name, email address, phone number, postcode, property type, service required, and any additional details you provide when submitting a quote request form.
• Provider data: business name, contact details, service areas, qualifications, and company information provided during listing creation or claim.
• Usage data: pages visited, time spent on site, referral source, browser type, device type, and IP address (stored in hashed form for privacy).
• Cookie data: essential cookies required for site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

• Matching you with providers: when you submit a quote request, we use your details to identify and contact up to 3 relevant compliance providers in your area.
• Sending quotes: your contact information is shared with matched providers so they can respond to your request directly.
• Platform operation: to maintain, improve, and secure our platform and services.
• Communication: to send you confirmation emails about your quote requests and, where you have opted in, occasional updates about our services.
• Legal compliance: to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

The lawful bases for processing your data are: (a) your consent, provided when you submit a quote request; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the platform; and (c) legal obligations where applicable.

4. Data Sharing

We share your personal data only in the following circumstances:

• With providers: when you request a quote, your contact details and request information are shared with up to 3 matched providers so they can respond. You will be informed which providers receive your details.
• Service providers: we use trusted third-party services for email delivery, hosting, payment processing, and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your information.
• Legal requirements: we may disclose data if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:

• Quote request data: retained for up to 24 months from the date of submission, after which it is anonymised or deleted.
• Provider data: retained for as long as the provider listing remains active, plus 12 months after deactivation.
• Usage data: retained in aggregated, anonymised form for analytics purposes. IP hashes are deleted after 90 days.

6. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: you can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: you can request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
